Covenant Community Care Partners with The Dispensary of Hope

First Dispensing Site in Michigan to Expand Access to More Prescription Medications
November 2009
(Detroit, Mich.) – Covenant Community Care, a community health center serving the uninsured and under-insured in southwest Detroit, announced today a new partnership with the Dispensary of Hope, a growing network of clinics and pharmacies, to provide cost-effective prescription medicines to working uninsured and/or low-income residents in Detroit. Covenant Community Care is the first Dispensary of Hope partner in the state of Michigan.

The Dispensary of Hope is a statewide and national network of dispensing sites, sourcing partners and financial partners that assist financially needy and underserved individuals in getting the medications they need for short- and long-term.

“We look forward to a successful partnership with the Dispensary of Hope network,” said Paul Propson, Covenant Community Care Executive Director. “As a faith-based clinic, it is part of our mission to provide patients in Detroit with quality, affordable care, and we anticipate our relationship with the Dispensary to greatly increase access to medications for underserved individuals in the area.”

“No one should be deprived of medications because of an inability to pay for them. The Dispensary of Hope is proud to partner with Covenant Community Care to complement the services they already provide to the community,” said Jason Dinger, Chief Executive Officer of the Dispensary of Hope.
Covenant Community Care has two locations in southwest Detroit: their main site at 559 West Grand Boulevard and their integrated care site located at Southwest Counseling Solutions at 1700 Waterman.

The Dispensary of Hope and Covenant Community Care will need continual support from local physicians who can donate excess, unexpired medications to the Dispensary. Please visit: www.dispensaryofhope.org and click “Donate Meds” if you are able to contribute.
